Miscellaneous Questions and Answers:
What was Neal’s route across America?
In order of progression, Neal’s 22 rivers & waterways included: the Columbia, the Snake, the St. Joe, the Clark Fork, the Missouri, the Mississippi, the Gulf of Mexico, the Mobile, the Tombigbee, the Tenn-Tom, the Tennessee, the Ohio, the Kentucky, the Kanawha, the Allegheny, the Chadakoin, Lake Erie, the Erie Canal, the Seneca, the Oneida, the Mohawk, and the Hudson. You can check out his interactive map here.
Where has Neal travelled outside of America?
Neal has been on the move for most of his life. Between taking up residence in the dustbowl Black townships of Apartheid-era South Africa and hanging his sombrero in the Plaza de Miguel de Cervantes, Espana. Between exploring the el-Bahariya depression and naturally rich oasis of the Western Desert of Egypt and marching with 500,000 pro-democracy Hongkongers against national security reform. Between solo hiking the go-everywhere historic Christian highlands and Islamic lowlands of ancient Tigray, Abyssinia (with a donkey named Gopher), and push-peddling his vintage Lucky bicycle along the incense-engulfed, temple-riddled back alleyways of Formosa, Taiwan.
